turning it around
Jez, this is life speaking to you. You think everything…
Bad days. We all have them. And i don’t know about you, but my mood can change from good to bad and vice versa in seconds, more than once a day. I get influenced so easily by my surroundings which is really annoying. And even if it’s not easy to change that, i thought i could at least try to change my whole mindset into a place of positivity, to be able to push forward towards my goals no matter what. Life is so much more fun if you choose to actually see the positive and dance along your path rather than going it grumbly and mumbly!
So, knowing that i need to shift my mindset into a positive one nearly every day if i want to have fun and reach my goals in life, i developed several techniques to do this. This post is about one of them:
The miracle jar.
The idea is this: Every time i accomplish something great, or someone is surprisingly kind to me, or i witness something wonderful, i write it on a piece of paper, fold it and throw it into the jar. And every time i feel like everything’s going wrong, or that i suck at everything, or that the world is a bad place, i take the miracle jar and pull out a note. Or two, or three. I actually once was in such a bad mood that i had to reread every single note in the jar. But that’s okay. Because that’s exactly why i started it: To help me remember that, when i feel the whole world is working against me or that i won’t be able to reach my goals in life, i actually already have done so many things i can be proud of, and seen so much kindness and so many beautiful things in life.
It helps me remember that the whole world isn’t a bad place, that i should be excited about what is yet to come and to keep fully motivated about my next steps.
So if you too sometimes find it hard to maintain your positivity, maybe a miracle jar would help with that? Feel free to get creative with it, paint it, write things on it, tie a ribbon around it or whatever you want. Then put it in a place where you can see it every day. That way you will be reminded of it whenever you need it 🙂
I hope it will help you as much as it does for me!
