Guys. This tart. I’m really proud of this one. It’s soo good and i swear you can’t taste it’s vegan. I think it may be my favorite creation ever. Chocolate and orange are just too good together;)

I have posted the recipe to this one before, it was one of my first posts here. But the pictures i took back then weren’t that pretty, and i think this tart deserves pretty pictures 😉 So when i remade it for my grandma’s birthday last week, i decided to post the recipe again, but with some prettier pictures.

Make this tart for special occasions, or even when you just want cake for no particular reason! It tastes like a super creamy and delicious chocolate bar that’s infused with orange, minus the guilt 😉

The star here is the orange zest. It makes both the crust and the cream taste wonderfully orange-y. Just wanted to mention this 😉 Now on to the recipe.

RAW ORANGE CHOCOLATE TART

base:

  • 1 cup ground nuts (almonds or hazelnuts work well)
  • 1 cup buckwheat flour
  • zest of 1 orange
  • 1 cup dates
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

filling:

  • 2 cups cashews, soaked in water for at least 4 hours
  • juice of 1,5 oranges
  • zest of 1 orange
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 3 tbsp cacao
  • 1/2 can coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup (or any liquid sweetener)
  1. For the base, first ground the nuts and then mix everything in a food processor until a sticky dough forms.
  2. Lay out a large cake pan with parchment paper and put the dough in there. With a spoon or something similar, press the dough evenly firm, also covering the sides. Put in the fridge or freezer.
  3. For the filling, mix all the ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth and creamy. Should smell and taste super delicious.
  4. Spread the filling evenly on top of the base. Put in the freezer for about 2 hours. After that, your cake is ready to eat!
  5. I almost forgot, you can decorate your cake with whatever you like, i chose dried orange slices and rawnola. (There are so many rawnola recipes out there, but maybe i’ll share one here nevertheless some time…)
